Auberge sur la Montagne

Auberge sur la Montagne

Auberge sur la Montagne is a spacious, catered chalet decorated in a harmonious mix of contemporary and traditional design.

Our large lounge, with its 200 year old wooden beams, has comfy sofas, a fully stocked bar and a huge fireplace. It has been styled in colours that reflect the local scenery – slate grey, sky blue and snowy white.

Our candle-lit dining room has been decorated in tones of cool grey with contemporary bright accent colours. We have a south-facing terrace and garden, which is a real sun trap!

There 5 ensuite guest bedrooms sleeping up to 15 in the main chalet, with an additional 3 ensuite bedrooms in the adjoining Garden Wing. We have a state-of-the-art outdoor hot tub and sauna installed in the garden – a great way to relax after a hard day on the piste.

The chalet is available on a sole occupancy or room-by-room basis, and is fully catered. This includes a generous breakfast and apres-ski tea and cakes every day, and a delicious 3-course meal with wine and coffee on 6 nights.

At the Auberge all the meals are freshly home-cooked by our highly talented and creative professional chef, using fresh, local produce. He takes pride in serving a mix of local dishes and international cuisine.

Vegetarians are well catered for and we are very happy to cater for other special dietary needs with advance notice.

Breakfast is a buffet-style feast. We offer a great array of options, including orange juice, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt and boiled eggs. Freshly baked hot croissants and bread with home-made marmalade, jams, and local honey are also available, along with freshly brewed tea, herbal teas or coffee.

We don’t serve lunch at the Auberge but we are happy to prepare packed lunches on request.

In the winter season, come back to a roaring log fire and après-ski tea with freshly baked cakes or biscuits.

We serve an early children’s supper so they can go to bed or watch a movie while you tuck in to a sumptuous 3-course dinner, served with our quality house wines, followed by coffee – all included in your holiday price. We have an extensive (and ever expanding) collection of fine wines in our cellar should you prefer something different.

One night each week we do not provide dinner and ask you to eat out at one of the many local restaurants.

In the summer we offer an optional 3-course dinner each evening, which is an additional €28. We serve local specialities including raclette and fondue, as well as international dishes.

Our wine cellar is well stocked with wines that we purchase ourselves direct from the growers, from which guests can choose to sample the local Vins de Savoie or select wines from all over France.

Our bar is very well stocked and has one of the most extensive collections of Scotch whiskies in France.

We celebrate Christmas and New Year in style at the Auberge. It is decorated in true festive spirit with lots of baubles and tinsel and a huge Christmas tree in the lounge.

Imagine waking on a crisp, white Christmas morning to the smell of baking croissants and freshly-brewed coffee. After a leisurely breakfast with bucks fizz to start the festivities you open presents with your loved ones beside the Christmas tree in front of the fire before heading out to the snowy slopes to ski (everything is open for business as usual at the resort over the holiday period).

Tea and Christmas cake await your return. You take a relaxing dip in the hot-tub before changing for dinner. We serve the works at the Auberge – roast turkey with stuffing, roast potatoes and all the traditional trimmings, followed by a flaming Christmas pudding with brandy cream, all washed down with our excellent AOC house wines. Round off the day with coffee and mince pies in front of the fire, and perhaps a cognac or whisky or two to help you wind down after all the excitement.

New Year’s Eve is party night at the Auberge, exclusively for our resident guests. We start with canapés and mulled wine in the bar, followed by a 4 course gourmet dinner. Our party bags, with funny hats, whistles & blowers, streamers and the infamous cotton “snowball” fight lead us up to midnight with champagne and fireworks on the terrace, followed by dancing for those with any energy left.

And the best thing is that all the hard work is taken care of by our team of professional staff, leaving you with nothing to do but enjoy the festive season however the fancy takes you.

The Auberge is the perfect venue for an off-piste course, as it offers easy access to some of the best off-piste or back-country ski terrain in Europe.

Sainte Foy has deservedly built up a reputation as an iconic off-piste resort and has become a must-ski destination for dedicated powder hounds. While skiers with some off-piste experience will enjoy some of the classic descents such as the North Face of Fogliettaz and Col Grenier, the easily accessible, gentle powder fields between the piste runs offer an ideal training ground for powder “pups” new to the delights of off-piste skiing.

Our proximity to the neighbouring mega-circuits of the Espace Killy, Paradiski and the Espace San Bernardo offers a huge choice of ski terrain, allowing your instructor to find the best possible ski conditions each day.

The area also offers a huge choice of ski touring routes, from the gentle climb to the village of Le Crôt to the epic ascent of the Archeboc.

Click on the links to find details of courses based at the Auberge run by our main off-piste partner Mountain Tracks, as well as Snoworks & Ski Club Freshtracks.

The Auberge is the perfect size to accommodate a group of friends or an extended family group. We offer special group discounts and bonuses for party leaders in return for all the hard work of organising the group.

We do everything we can to make things as easy as possible for you. We can collect your group from the airport or rail station and transport you to the different resorts during your stay. We can lay on special entertainment such as wine tastings, off-piste guiding, dog-sledding or heli-skiing, or organise a party to celebrate that special event, such as a wedding anniversary or special birthday.

We are also a great venue for a corporate seminar, hospitality or team-building trip. Our dining room can be transformed into a comfortable meeting room and the Den has a large, flat-screen TV, DVD and video player, which can make it an ideal venue for multi-media presentations.

We can organise team-bonding group activities such as heli-skiing or dog-sledding in winter, and white water rafting or paragliding in summer.

In short, we’ll do everything possible to ensure your group stay is a success, whatever the occasion.

We know that whilst many clients are very keen to book their ski trip for next season the ongoing situation may be holding them back.

We’ve detailed below how we have addressed many concerns relating to the current issues around Covid.

With all the uncertainty in the world right now you need to be sure that you are protected if you book a holiday with us.

This year we have added a Covid clause into our terms and conditions so you will be fully refunded in the event of resort closure or travel bans. See our terms and conditions page for further details:

All payments for equipment hire and lift passes can be refunded in full up until a week before your arrival date in resort.

You have the right to cancel either of these services, for any reason, up until this point and will receive a full refund for amounts paid.

Staff will all have access to masks. In the Auberge, and in any of our catered chalets these will be worn at all times, except when eating.

Guests will also be required to wear masks in the Auberge except when sat eating or drinking.

Masks will be worn by drivers and guests on all Allatski transport.

Vehicles will be thoroughly cleaned prior to each use.

Hand sanitiser will be available throughout all chalets and staff will be required to use this regularly while working.

We have put in place new safety protocols in accordance with government advice and will ensure all our staff are fully aware of these so you can relax and enjoy your time in the mountains.

All staff will receive Covid-specific training, with extra cleaning and disinfecting measures in every chalet.

In the Auberge the dining tables will be set up to comply with social distancing rules, possibly using the bar area as an overflow depending on the number of guests.

Breakfast service may need to be in time slots depending on the size of groups staying.

There will be enhanced cleaning checklists and written protocols to ensure nothing is missed.

Any staff member showing any symptoms will be removed from the work rota immediately and isolated until they are cleared to return.

If the chalet has a hot tub or sauna, these areas of each chalet will be cleaned regularly, as always. In the Auberge, the number of people using these areas at one time may need to be restricted depending on French Government advice at the time of the stay.

In our self-catered properties we can arrange self-check-ins if required to minimise face-to-face contact.

For our ski hire service, guests will need to book in for a fitting session in advance to avoid crossover of groups. All ski equipment will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised after each hire.

Lifts open or lifts closed?

With the continued uncertainty surrounding the opening of ski lifts, we are offering keen mountain lovers the chance to get away for a few days and use your own fitness and leg power to explore and enjoy the mountains in a more peaceful and natural environment.

All at Ski is working with Jocelyn Cockle (Floss) from FreeFloSki and local guides and instructors to offer a flexible guided option. Each day there will be guided snowshoe walks and ski touring (Rando) sessions. One of the many benefits of staying at the Auberge Sur La Montagne is that you have the resorts of Ste Foy, Tignes, Val DI'sere, Les Arcs and La Rosiere at your fingertips and transport to these is included each day. There is so much beauty to explore and enjoy even without the ski lifts. All resorts are currently allowing snowshoe walking and ski touring

Enjoy a comfortable, flexible stay for three nights or more. A three-night stay is €550 per person, (based on 2 sharing) and will include three half or full-days guiding in either activity (minimum of two people in a group), half-board accommodation and all transfers to nearby resorts. For stays over three days you can add on the guiding as you wish or enjoy a day off. If the lifts are open you can buy a daily pass, if they are closed then you can start the skinning from the bottom of the resort (and save money!). It’s not a problem if you’ve never tried ski touring or snow shoeing as we will give full instruction. Ski touring skis and avalanche safety kits are available for hire in-house. The sessions will be aimed at beginner and early intermediate level. A degree of fitness will be essential.

This is only available for a limited time, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to enjoy the mountains in a more natural environment. To book now, or request further information drop us an email: For more details see:

*Dinner and breakfast may have to be served in rooms depending on the current government advice.
