Off-Piste Coaching: Development
This off-piste ski course takes place in the stunning resort of Sainte Foy in the French Alps, which offers superb skiing 'off the beaten track'. The vast range of off-piste descents available means that you can make the most of the 5 days of intensive instruction, building on your existing off-piste skills to the next level of expertise.
Sainte Foy remains remarkably unspoilt, preserving its authentic charm and local architecture but development is planned so there couldn't be a better time to explore the 'real' Sainte Foy before the development starts. Ski lifts take you up to 2,550 metres and the Col de l'Aiguille, the launch pad for much of the off-piste skiing for which Sainte Foy has earned its reputation. Superb off-piste descents in one of the world's premier ski regions offers extensive opportunities to work on technique.
At the end of this course, you will be a confident and accomplished skier of most off-piste runs, including steeper lines and more difficult snow conditions. You will also be able to evaluate the risk of avalanches in more extreme terrain and learn the skills to navigate your way around the mountain safely.
And the course doesn’t finish when the skiing stops: we do our best to ensure your group will really gel over the week. We use comfortable chalet style accommodation with communal areas where you can gather, relax and socialize and where we eat all meals as a group (as well as one group evening meal out during the week). Plus the courses include video analysis and sessions on avalanche safety and awareness.

THE COURSE IS 5 FULL DAYS OFF-PISTE INSTRUCTION
The first day is a warm-up day when no instruction is provided and your instructors will meet you in the evening for a short meeting to discuss the itinerary for the week and the prevailing weather and snow conditions.
The principal aims of this week are:
- To provide first class ski instruction from professional, friendly ski instructors to radically improve your off piste skiing technique and style
- To give practical mountain awareness training on the hazards and risks associated with skiing off-piste
- To provide the opportunity to ski the best off piste in Ste Foy and the surrounding resorts of the Tarentaise valley
These courses will be tailored to the specific needs of the group and focus on improving your off-piste skiing ability in guaranteed small groups (no more than 6 skiers per instructor) to maximize your learning.
We keep the actual skiing programme entirely flexible and your instructors will decide on the best itinerary for each day depending on the composition of the group and the weather and snow conditions.
